Marco Coching continuously depicts his fascination with the details of the visual world. He constantly analyzes the profusion of colors and textures in nature, and the myriad qualities of light that can transform an ordinary scene into something luminous. The artist is drawn to patterns in nature, as well as the ways patterns coincide with each other. The notion of temporality is central in his process; documenting human connections, dialogues and relationships as they morph over time.
A graduate of Fine Arts from the University of Santo Tomas, Marco “Macoy” Coching is the Grandson of National Artist Francisco V. Coching, the “Dean of Filipino Illustrators”. Macoy took on a different approach in terms of his visual storytelling, and his solo show at Power Plant Mall titled “Lights in Motion” is a presentation of the artists’s conceptual take on luminous hues and abstracted forms.
